FC Cincinnati 2/Matchup Notes
The matchup – FC Cincinnati 2 and CT United FC are set for their third and final meeting of the MLS NEXT Pro season Sunday night. The Coywolves earned their first ever win as a club against the Orange and Blue in the season opener at Scudamore Field in March.
It was a 3-1 win for the visitors, but Stefan Chirila opened his season account from the penalty spot in the 71st minute to bring the match level at 1-1. The Coywolves would grab two additional goals over the final 12 minutes to take three points.
Chirila’s conversion from the spot started what has been one of the forward’s more efficient seasons in MLSNP where he has seven goals and two assists in 17 appearances. Chirila is just two goals away from matching a single-season high in goals scored (9; 2025).

The Coywolves are coming off a 2-1 loss against the New England Revolution II in what has been, for the most part, a very successful first season in MLS NEXT Pro. CT United hold the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference heading into the weekend and have the chance to break into the top-five with a win against the Orange and Blue.
CT United are powered by forward Barnabás Tanyi. The Hungary native has notched ten goals this season and is tied for the fifth most goals scored in MLSNP in year. After scoring in four consecutive matches from June to July, Tanyi has found the back of the net just once over his last four appearances.
Midfielder Daniel D’Ippolito is fighting for a league lead of his own in assists. D’Ippollito has seven assists and trails only two players for a league lead of eight. D’Ippolito matched teammate Tanyi where he went four consecutive matches with an assist.
CT United will be on the road for the first time since June 14 when they square off against the Orange and Blue. The Coywolves have played their last eight matches at home and will be on the road until their last match of the year when they face Inter Miami CF II.
